The bad news:

1. In Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts [regions], separatists captured eleven district election commissions [DEC], there is still a threat of the seizure of eight more.

According to our current Ukrainian legislation, the elections will be valid without a number of polling stations in Donbas. But why should some criminal bandits deny [Ukrainian] citizens the opportunity to make their political choice under normal circumstances?

We want to still believe that Ukrainian special forces will do everything in their power to maximally allow for the work of the election commissions. After all, it’s the state’s responsibility to ensure the realization of the constitutional rights of its citizens.

2. In the Vekhovna Rada [Ukrainian Parliament], the Party…

For First Time Ever, Ukraine Remembers Those Killed in World War II under the European Symbol of the Red Poppy on May 8, 2014

Euromaidan PR

Victory Day undergoes a long-awaited paradigm change in 2014 when celebrations commemorating those who died in the Second World War take place on May 8, on the eve of traditional celebrations of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

During Yanukovych’s presidency, Victory Day was celebrated in a typically Soviet fashion. In 2011, an attempt was made to legalize the presence of Soviet flags during celebrations. The law was passed by Parliament and signed by the President, but it was finally deemed unconstitutional. Attempts to use Soviet symbols in particular and the overall sovietization of the holiday during Ukraine’s independence, when a national vision of the role of Ukrainians in the war began to materialize, led to additional civil strife in society and became another fault line between its citizens.

According to operational data from Information Resistance, rocket-propelled grenades–such as were used recently by terrorists during armed shootouts on Ukrainian security forces’ strategic facilities in the area of the ATO–have been brought into the country from abroad.

In particular, used containers from RPG-26 launchers (serial #254-1-93, where 254 corresponds to the manufacturing plant, 1 to the batch number, and 93 to the year) were found at terrorist combat positions near Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. Attacks on Ukrainian security forces units were carried out with these weapons.

These types of weapons were never used in the armed forces of Ukraine.

Thus, this is another confirmation that the pro-Russian terrorists in Donbas receive weapons from abroad.

IR NOTE: The RPG-26 is manufactured in Russia. It is currently used by the armies of Russia, Transnistria, and Jordan.
